The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) is accepting applications for its new Alzheimer’s Disease Developmental Projects awards, which offer up to $150,000 to support feasibility studies targeting research in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Proposals may range from basic or biomedical to translational, epidemiological, caregiving or social behavioral research. The Wisconsin ADRC will support up to three projects. Funding will start in April 2023 for successful applicants.
Eligibility
This call is open to all doctoral-level researchers within the University of Wisconsin, with priority given to junior researchers and postdoctoral trainees. Established researchers new to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias research and those with new hypotheses that are not an extension of already ongoing research are also welcome to apply. Applications from researchers from underrepresented groups are encouraged. Projects should align with the aims of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act. Priority will be given to investigators who leverage the use of Wisconsin ADRC or National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC) data or biological samples from the National Centralized Repository for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (NCRAD) as part of their research plans.
Additional guidelines:
- PI must have a doctoral degree and a UW or VA appointment
- Funds can be requested for up to 2 years
- Yearly budget should not exceed $75,000
- Indirect costs will not be supported
- Clinical trials are excluded
How to apply
Interested researchers should submit a Letter of Intent indicating the focus of research by 11:59 p.m. CT on September 19, 2022. Applicants must submit a full application in electronic format by 11:59 p.m. CT on October 31, 2022.
