AFAR Awards Dr. Andrea Gilmore-Bykovskyi with Rising Star Award in Health Services and Aging Research

The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) awarded Andrea Gilmore-Bykovskyi, PhD, RN, the 2021 Terrie Fox Wetle Rising Star Award in Health Services and Aging Research. Gilmore-Bykovskyi, an assistant professor in the UW School of Nursing, is an investigator and Care Research Core informatics lead in the Wisconsin ADRC. She is also a current Wisconsin ADRC REC Scholar.

The award is given to early- and mid-career researchers who make important contributions to health services science. AFAR is honoring Gilmore-Bykovskyi for her dementia-focused health services research program, which investigates social and behavioral communication patterns among individuals with moderate to advanced dementia. 

AFAR will present the award to Gilmore-Bykovskyi at the Annual Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America in November 2021, where she will also present her research progress.
