Dr. Manish Shah receives Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine Pioneer Award

Manish Shah, MD, MPH, received the Pioneer Award from the Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine (AGEM) in recognition of his significant contributions to establishing and advancing the field of geriatric emergency medicine. The academy is part of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM).

Dr. Shah is a professor, vice chair of research, and the John & Tashia Morgridge Chair of Emergency Medicine Research in the Berbee Walsh Department of Emergency Medicine at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, as well as co-leader of the Care Research Core at the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. His research focuses on how to improve the quality of dementia care for older adults in their homes, and he is a mentor for the next generation of researchers studying geriatric emergency medicine topics.
