
Nathaniel Chin, MD, weighed in on a recent study published in Nature Medicine that determined the number of Americans who will develop dementia is estimated to double by 2060.
“Lifestyle interventions are the foundation for how we approach cognitive health,” says Chin in an article featured on Fortune.
Research highlights the value of learning new things, staying socially connected, managing chronic health conditions, using hearing aids if needed and limiting alcohol consumption to strengthen cognitive skills.
Chin also shared steps in his daily routine with the New York Post to lower his own risk of dementia, including intermittent fasting, avoiding sugar and adding turmeric to his diet for its anti-inflammatory properties.
