Though there is extensive research being done on ways to improve one’s longevity, exercise remains one of the most powerful things a person can do to improve their health and protect against diseases of aging. An article in The Wall Street Journal explores the large body of research focused on the ways exercise benefits a person’s health as they age.

Ozioma Okonkwo, PhD, was quoted in the article. He discussed two studies he co-wrote on links between moderate-intensity exercise and increases in cerebral blood flow and brain glucose metabolism, both of which are connected to cognitive functions.
