Megan Zuelsdorff

Megan Zuelsdorff, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow at the Wisconsin ADRC, accepted a position as a tenure track assistant professor with the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing, beginning August 2019. Since 2016, Dr. Zuelsdorff has been closely affiliated with the Wisconsin ADRC as a member of the Okonkwo lab, led by Dr. Ozioma Okonkwo, and most recently as a scientist on Dr. Carey Gleason's African Americans Fighting Alzheimer's in Midlife (AA-FAiM) study.

The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) will receive $15 million from the National Institutes of Health-National Institute on Aging (NIH-NIA) to advance research into Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The money will help the center establish new areas of expertise, train the next generation of Alzheimer’s disease researchers, and develop tools and techniques to better identify the earliest stages of the disease. On March 30, about 25 people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and their family members learned about the benefits of physical activity for healthy memories at “Exercise Your Way to Better Brain Health,” held at the American Family DreamBank in Madison, Wisconsin. About 200 people attended the Solomon Carter Fuller Brain Health Brunch on March 16, 2019, at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The annual daylong event aims to build awareness of Alzheimer’s disease in the African American community.
